How
FPC Helps You Buy Your Vehicle: Considering All
Factors
One of the most important responsibilities we have
is doing everything we can to make sure that our clients
receive sound, un-biased advice regarding the vehicle
they want to buy. While some clients know exactly what
they want, others are uncertain. Some people who start
out thinking they know exactly what they want actually
think again once we share information that they had
either not realized or had not carefully considered.
While
we can and will help anyone secure any car they desire,
it’s an important part of our job to
make sure that clients make a sound decision based
on two, often intertwined, factors: resale value and
reliability.
Resale Value
Most people can’t afford to throw money away
on their transportation (can you?), but many do – simply
because they don’t know any better. They don’t
have all the facts presented to them in an easily understandable
manner and don’t know what to look for on their
own. Sometimes people get a bit too excited by a new
model, available with tempting incentives. More often
than not, once we’ve given them all the facts,
they realize that their initial choice might not have
been the best one.
Reliability
Most people also cannot afford to spend a lot of time
and money keeping their cars on the road. Too often,
buyers consider a long warranty enough of a safety
net to go ahead with a certain purchase. Warranties
(especially the longer, more comprehensive ones)
are great, but what good does it do you if the car
has to go into the shop frequently – even if
the repairs are covered by warranty? Wouldn’t
you rather have a car that isn’t constantly
in the shop? Reliability also affects the resale
value of the car, and if a particular model requires
frequent repairs, it is taken into consideration
and will eventually result in poor resale value.
Other Factors
Safety and desirability are other factors that should
influence the purchase as well. Many groups measure
the safety of vehicles with the government and The
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety being the
primary ones. However, the results obtained by these
two bodies can differ, sometimes greatly. You need
to know what these two groups’ ratings mean,
and how they apply to the vehicle you are interested
in buying. Desirability plays another important role:
why take a great deal on an unpopular vehicle only
to suffer, in the form of terribly low resale value,
when it comes time to trade?
Yes,
it’s a lot to consider. More than most
people have the time, patience, or resources to do
on their own. That’s why Frank Price Company
is in business. We do the legwork; you get the car – it’s
a win-win situation. Try us on your next purchase and
find out for yourself.
